Good morning families! Below please find my plans for your children for this week. All assignments will be on PowerSchool by the end of today. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me here. Please stay safe and healthy and continue to pray for all those affected by this virus .
I will be providing answer keys for students to correct their work.
Thank you, Mrs. Tara O’Leary
Monday 03/16
Section 6-14 Divide Mixed Numbers
Read page 224.
Important things to remember: convert mixed numbers to improper fractions, ‘cross cancel’ using the GCF. Answers always in simplest form.
HW: workbook p. 76
Tuesday 03/17
Section 6-15
Read page 226. Rounding is likely an easier method for them than compatible numbers as this is what we use most often in class. Both methods are worthy.
HW: workbook p. 77
Wednesday 03/18
Section 6-17 Problem Solving Applications
HW: workbook p. 79. I’d prefer their work to be shown on a separate paper. Be cautious with #s 7 & 8 as there are unit conversions involved (pounds to ounces and hours to minutes)
Thursday 03/19
Check Your Progress page 232
This is an end of chapter assessment and I would like the students to approach it as a chapter practice quiz. This is to be done on looseleaf paper please. It will only be graded as a HW assignment though.
Friday 03/20
Using the answer key I will be providing, please have the student correct their work. Any mistakes will need to be addressed and worked out again (they’re very used to this process)
I'll collect and record their completed work when we return to school.
Thank you so much for your help. This process is so new for all of us so I’m understanding if there’s glitches along the way. Stay in touch. I’m here to help in any way I can.
